The Power of Positivity Art Series
My latest abstract art series celebrates the Power of Positivity.
Positivity is integral to all of us as we face the challenges of life both big and small. How can an art series convey the power of positivity? Let me explain:
Art Connects Us
The intention of my work as an artist is to celebrate a common thread that we all share: a sense of awe inspired by beauty. My role as an artist is to hold up and share the beauty that I see, whether that be a flower, a landscape, or an emotion. When the viewer shares my sense of wonder, we establish a connection, even if we never meet.
Art transcends language, life stages, or geography. Appreciation for an artwork can bridge gaps in culture. Art truly unites us—and we need that more than ever! When you give art as a gift, you are creating a new connection that gets reinforced and reignited every time the recipient looks at the artwork.
Art Kept Me Connected to My Mother
One of the biggest heartbreaks in my life was watching my remarkable mother lose her memory and capabilities due to Alzheimer's disease. My mom was my hero and role model. The woman I am today is thanks in large part to my mom’s hard work and loving care.
Even when Mom’s memory was failing and communication became a challenge, art was a way we could still connect: my paintings of flowers and other subjects brought a smile to her face and an increased level of engagement. At these moments, my heart would swell and I would hang onto the connection as long as possible.
Sharing Positivity with This Series
I’m a positive person. I know that life can be full of strife and chaos, but again and again I see that the best parts of the human spirit prevail. I look to the future with hope and I do my part to build that future!
This painting series shares this positivity through my choice of paint colors, my lighthearted gestural mark making, and the sense of animated movement that I achieve through the shapes I create and the overall design. These paintings delight me, and I know that they’ll lift the spirits of anyone who hangs them in their home or office!
Speaking of hanging the art, these pieces are a very convenient size (6”x 6” and 8” x 8”) for incorporating into your home’s decor, and they look stunning hung in a group together. And they don’t even have to be hung: Their thick depth (they’re painted on 1-½” thick canvas panels) also allows them to stand up on their own in a bookcase or on a shelf. That’s perfect for those who are not willing or able to drive nails into the walls of their home.
These versatile, bright pieces are the perfect way to begin an art collection or to give as a special holiday gift that’ll be treasured for decades.
Art That’s Doing Good in the World
I like to use some of the proceeds from my art sales to make an even deeper positive impact on the world, and this series is no exception! Twenty percent of the proceeds from the sales of these works will be donated as ten percent each to two charities that help both the old and the young: https://artsfortheaging.org/ and https://youngarts.org/
When you buy one of the paintings from this collection, you can feel good that you are not only buying joyful art and supporting an artist, but you are also sharing the joy of art with children and the elderly.
I believe that every day should be Christmas. What do I mean by that? I mean that we should constantly be working towards serving others and celebrating the lives we are blessed with. I hope that these paintings will serve as a dazzling reminder of the power of positivity for those who display them.
Happy Holidays!
